"The update of the Water Management Plan in the catchment area of the Eastern Alps quantifies the impacts resulting from the significant pressures exerted on the water bodies of the district and therefore assesses their ecological and chemical status. The plan establishes a program of 1280 "punctual" and "general" measures, consistent with the environmental objectives set by the Water Directive 2000/60 / EC *, namely the achievement of the "good condition" of all waters within the set deadlines, except special cases expressly provided for. The estimated cost to carry out the program is approximately € 5,475,000,000 of which € 1,388,000,000 with secured financing.

Among the elements that distinguish this revision of the plan, it should be noted its greater adherence, both in architecture and in the knowledge base, to the dictates of the Water Directive 2000/60 / EC.

The setting of the plan is in line with the approaches followed at international and European level for environmental analyzes ".
